Rich Creek Public Library
The "Polar Express Reading Program" was held on Sunday, December 6, 2009 with 24 children attending. The children entered the library in "awl" as the Polar Express music played in the background and the "train conductor" issued each child a "ticket" to ride the Polar Express. Each ticket was punched just like the movie and Santa was ready and waiting in his rocking chair ready to greet each of them as they climbed aboard the "Polar Express" for a fun afternoon. After Santa read the "Polar Express" book to the children, the children were then given the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap and have their picture taken and then Santa gave each child a candy cane and a "jingle bell". They then decorated their own Christmas cookie and had a cup of hot chocolate to top off the day! All of the children and adults had a "wonderful" time.....Merry Christmas!
