Jun 08 2016 | 2015 CCR Report

An Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is designed to inform you about your drinking water quality.  Our goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water, and we want you to understand the efforts we make to protect your water supply.  The quality of your drinking water must meet state and federal requirements administered by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

of the

Town of Rich Creek Waterworks

We have been advised by State health officials of a failure by our water supplier, Giles County Public Service Authority, to perform required monitoring in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia/State Board of Health Waterworks Regulations

Giles County Public Service Authority is required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During the 2015 monitoring period the Giles County Public Service Authority did not monitor for inorganic concentrations. Therefore, we cannot be sure of the inorganic quality of our drinking water during that time. The waterworks consumers are being advised because we purchase water from the Giles County Public Service Authority.

State health officials feel there is little need for concern about the safety of your water because records show that our waterworks has had no documented problems with inorganic concentrations. However, routine sampling and analysis is required to determine the quality of water delivered to our customers.

There is nothing you need to do at this time.

The Giles County Public Service Authority plans to collect the sample for analysis during June 2016.
